    Are You a Candidate?

If you're running for Congress in Virginia, voters want to hear from you.

Most voters don't start researching candidates months in advance — they do it right before they vote. When that moment comes, they're looking for the basics: who you are, what you stand for, and why you're running.

Local Candidates is where Virginia voters are coming to do that research. Update your profile to make sure they find you — with your positions, your background, and your story.

    Share your positions

    Share your positions

Let voters know where you stand. What will you focus on in office? What issues matter to your constituents?

For too long, policy positions have taken a back seat. In 2026, voters deserve better. Give them the detail they're looking for — your priorities, your values, and what you'll fight for in office.

    Tell your story

    Tell your story

Your background shapes who you are today. Voters want to know why you're running. What motivates you? What's made the most impact on your life? What pushes you to fight for your constituents?

If we've learned anything in the past ten years, it's that authenticity wins attention. Tell voters who you really are, what keeps you up at night, and why you chose public service.

    2026 Elections Are Live

If you're tired of politics, we get it — the news cycle is exhausting. But you should still vote. We'll make it easy to find what you need.

    2026 US Senate Election

Mark Warner has represented Virginia in the Senate since 2009 and is running for re-election. The last time Virginia elected a Republican to the US Senate was 2002, when John Warner won his final term. Both parties have competitive primaries on August 4.

    Welcome to Local Candidates

Local Candidates has been helping Virginia voters research their ballot since 2024. This year, we rebuilt the platform from the ground up to be faster, more accurate, and easier to navigate.

    Every district, mapped

Virginia has 11 congressional districts, each with its own primary race shaping up. But this year is different.

Redistricting is on the ballot first. On April 21, Virginia voters will decide whether to amend the state constitution to allow the General Assembly to temporarily redraw congressional districts. If it passes, the current district lines could change — and with them, the candidates and races. Primary elections have already been pushed back to August 4 to account for this.

We're still working out how we'll handle redistricting on Local Candidates, but we'll keep you updated here.
