Campaign Finance Reform
With experience prosecuting campaign violations at the federal level, Victor is committed to clean elections and reforming our campaign finance laws. Virginia is one of just a few states without limits on individual campaign contributions and one of just five states without limits on corporate contributions. Nor does Virginia prohibit conduit/straw contributions, where funds are funneled through others to hide the true source of influence. Victor will push for laws to limit contributions, ban conduit/straw contributions, and create an independent watchdog with subpoena power to investigate violations.
Public Education
As a public school parent, Victor will fight to defend and expand access to high-quality, equitable education for all, including special education and early childhood programs. He will work towards retaining our teachers and building the next generation of world-class educators.
Reproductive Freedom
We face a new agenda from Washington that threatens women’s reproductive rights, including lifesaving care. Victor will fight for legislation that protects bodily autonomy and empowers patients and their healthcare providers—not government—to make medical decisions without the threat of civil or criminal liability.
Immigration
As the son of immigrants, Victor knows the value of legal immigration. But when it comes to law enforcement, the new administration in Washington wants to strain our resources by deputizing our police officers and sheriffs to ask for your papers if you look like him or his daughters. Victor will be a leading voice for justice in our immigration system.
